We would like to invite you to experience the beauty and the serenity of our lodge nested in the Mindo Nambillo cloud forest.  One of the most important places in South America for bird watching.   El Carmelo de Mindo is located only a 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Quito. It`s a family run business, established in 1994, whose main goal was to build a lodge where guests can  enjoy nature while respecting and protecting the environment.

El Carmelo has a 74 acres extension in which area our guests will have the opportunity to visit different and diverse attractions such as the Mindo river, our fishing lagoon, 1.5 miles secondary forest pathways that takes you to our butterflies farm and  el Carmelo mountain, a  great pleasure for watching all the Mindo area.

 At the El Carmelo de Mindo Lodge, you can bird watch, swim, hike, fish, explore the cloud forest trails or simply relax. Most guests stay here for 2 or 3 nights.  We have special programs that include meals and activities.  Our lodge is unique place for families with children, young travelers and everyone who wants to know more about the Mindo cloud forest, his plants, animals and the amazing landscapes that only Mindo can offer.

Trip Itinerary
