Itinerary
Day 1: Pululahua Crater
Today’s ride focuses on volcanic history and nature: wild orchids blooming among the old lava fields, geological formations reminiscent of moonscapes, and the startling contrast of lush corn fields farmed with traditional farming methods. (-/BL/D)
Day 2: Pululahua Crater
Deep gorges and cloud-forest-covered slopes form the backdrop of your horseback adventure today. You have an opportunity to take a refreshing swim in a sulfurous mountain stream. (B/BL/D)
Day 3: Pululahua Crater
Your third day offers yet another scenic treat as you ride through tropical vegetation where sugar cane, pineapple, and bananas thrive. Later in the day, return to Quito. (B/BL/-)
What you should bring: rain gear, flashlight, warm clothing, lighter clothing for sunny parts, riding boots or trekking shoes with a good grip, bug spray, water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, swimwear, small towel, head cover, small daypack, camera, bandana (to cover your face on dusty sections)
Wearing a riding helmet is advised, although it is not mandatory in South America. If you want to wear a helmet, you must bring your own.
