Rio Quijos - Rafting Tour
Downriver Run – Class IV-V
Itinerary
Departure in Quito at 6:30 am. We travel east across the paramo and down through beautiful cloud forest to the rafting base in the Quijos valley. After a country style breakfast we head for the river shore where we take on our wetsuits, life jackets and helmets. Our experienced guides give us a safety briefing and an intensive in-boat paddle practice before we navigate down the river. Barely sitting in our boat the first rapids will challenge us – exactly the same that challenged two hundred and fifty of the world’s best rafters in October 2005 World Championship. Passing the upper canyons of the Quijos our delicious riverside picnic lunch awaits us. We finish the river trip with some well-earned cold drinks and return to Quito. Arrival at approximately 7.00 pm. (B/BL/-)
