Itinerary

Day 1: Cotopaxi National Park
A scenic drive along a gravel road leads to the Cotopaxi volcano (5.900 m / 19,350 ft). Option to hike to the Jose Ribas shelter at 4.800 m / 15,750 ft. Overnight stay in the Cotopaxi region. (-/-/-)   

Day 2: Patate — Baños or Chimborazo
Today you have the opportunity to explore the region around Patate and enjoy the spectacular view of the active Tungurahua volcano. Visit the lively small town of Baños or Mount Chimborazo (20,702 feet), the highest mountain in Ecuador. (B/-/-)  

Day 3: Pastaza Canyon — Liana Lodge 
The scenery is nothing short of spectacular as you drive through Pastaza Canyon with its deep gorges and numerous waterfalls. Your destination today is Liana Lodge, an unspoiled jungle lodge that hosts an animal rehabilitation station. (B/-/D)   

Day 4: Jungle Adventures at Liana Lodge 
A native naturalist will take you on a hike into the rainforest. You can swim in a crystal-clear river. (B/L/D) 

Day 5: Hot Springs of Papallacta
In the morning, you drive back to the Andes region and the thermal hot springs of Papallacta (3.300 m / 10,830 ft). Pamper yourself in the comfortable spa of the hot springs hotel or go for a hike amidst the beautiful scenery of the surroundings. (B/-/-)   

Day 6: Papallacta — Otavalo 
On your drive through the gorgeous Cayambe-Coca Nature Reserve you pass a picturesque lake. In the shadows of the Imbabura volcano you continue your scenic drive to Otavalo.   

Day 7: Otavalo — Quito
Today’s adventures include a visit to Cuicocha Lagoon and the indigenous crafts market of Otavalo. On your way back to Quito, there will also be time for a visit to the pyramids of Cochasquí. (B/-/-)
