Itinerary

You have three marvelous days to explore the northern Andes region. Visit South America’s most significant indigenous market in Otavalo, the picturesque crater lake Cuicocha, remote villages where ancient crafts and traditions are still very much alive, and the Chota Valley, an enclave of Afro-Ecuadorian culture high in the Andes. We also recommend the earthen pyramids of Cochasquí, the mountain shelter on the 5.790 m / 19,000 ft glacier giant Cayambe (four-wheel drive required), and the nature reserve of Páramo de El Angel.
